the equalizer app vanished after the update. where did the headphone profile go?

the update came through Windows Update, not the laptop makers page. sorry for the wall of text lol

oof came here to say exactly this. honestly just reset teh default config and save yourself the pain

for Dolby-type processing on laptops, teh license is often tied to that models specific driver. A newer generic driver from the chip maker may run sound fine but wont enalbe the app. in that case, stay on teh PC makers version.

ok so make a backup before u touch the antivirus, learned that the hard way, reading this at 2am instead of sleeping, no regrets

lol same thing happened to me block driver updates for that device after it works again, or Windows Update may replace the package with a generic one next time. lmk how it goes
