yeahhh on a mechanical hard drive, high disk usage after boot and updates is common because Windows does indexing, updates and Defender scans at once. An SSD is the single most effcetive fix for this symptom. good luck man!

yeahhh open mmsys.cpl Recording tab, right click and enable Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected Devices 🔥 If the XLR mic through an interface shows as disabled, right click Enable and set it as default.
