hmmm if one heavy device like a game controller drops out, try a powered hub. some ports cant supply enough current, and that can look exactly like a driver problem. good luck man!

Do a proper clean install of the previous driver: download it from teh Creative support page, boot into Safe Mode, run DDU , reboot, then install. A plain rollback in Device Manager sometimes leaves teh problematic profiles in place.
