Frame time cnosistency matters more than average FPS for perceived smoothness 馃槀 A stable capped rate often feels better than a fluctuating higher one. hope that helps :)

  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts my GPU fans scream at full speed in menus and in competitive shooters because teh frame rate is uncapped. Ive got a 144 Hz monitor. Is there any real reason not to cap, or am i just burning power for nothing? 馃槶 i also notice the room gets warm after long sessions, and the fans are loud. If capping helps with that without hurting responsiveness, Id switch tonight. Is there a catch Im missing? Curious to see where teh majority lands on this one.

  2. oof uncapped can reduce latency in some competitive games when the frame rate is far above refresh, but only if the GPU isnt maxed out lol A GPU at 99% usage queues fraems and actually increases latency 馃し Reflex or Anti-Lag help with that.

  3. idk man that sounds like bad advice tbh... honestly just reset teh extension and save yourself teh pain

  4. yeahhh have u checked ur vsync settings? mine were reset after an update

  5. lol same thing happened to me if u play competitively and see big FPS swings, test both with a frame time graph. Use what gives the flattest line at an acceptable latency. fingers crossed 馃

  6. In-game limiters are often the lowest latency option cuz teh game knows when to start teh next frame. The driver limiter is a good second choice. External tools like RTSS give very stable frame times but can add a little latency. fingers crossed 馃

  7. yeahhh with VRR (G-Sync or FreeSync) teh usual recommendation is: enable VRR, enable V-Sync in teh driver, and cap a few frames below the refresh rate. That keeps u inside the VRR range and avoids tearing and V-Sync latency.

  8. lol same thing happened to me make a backup before u touch the cache, learned that the hard way good luck man!

  9. lol same thing happened to me this, so much this. spent half the night on vsync and im still not done worked for me anyway 馃し

  10. lol same thing happened to me capping reduces heat, power and fan noise, especially in menus. Many games also have a separate menu frame limit setting.

  14. @sorenr617 yesss tested with a frame time graph like suggested. The capped line is way flatter. Sticking with the cap.
