hmmmm ok my home server uses Western Digital SSD Dashboard for its storage controller. I've read that the standard Microsoft NVMe driver is just as good or better for single drives. I care most about Linux dual boot 馃槀 is there any reason to keep the vendor driver, or should I switch? and how risky is switching on an existing installation? real experiences welcome. I would like to make an informed choice.
STORAGE DRIVER CHOICE FOR LINUX DUAL BOOT: VENDOR OR INBOX? !!
wait is this an existing install or a fresh one??
yeah so single NVMe drive in my home server.
Some SSD makers offer their own NVMe drvier. In most cases teh inbox driver performs comparably; only switch if you have a specific issue or feature need. worked for me anyway 馃し
