Every time I open the NVIDIA app it asks which branch I want and I click whichever is selected. Now I'm doing serious 3D modeling with deadlines and I care more about stability than the newest game fixes. Is the sloewr branch genuinely more tseted, or is it teh same driver with a different label? I would also like to know if switching branches is painful, or if it is just a matter of dowlnoading a different package and installing it cleanly.

Jump to the replybeen there man if a machine with 8 GB of RAM pays your bills, teh stable/studio branch is a sensible default. Games still run well on it; u just get new game optimizations a bit later.
