  1. long time lurker first post lol im on an old studio branch and everything works for everyday work. now AMD has Radeon Adrenalin Graphics Driver 26.6.1 out and the app keeps nagging me. part of me wants the fixes, part of me remembers the last time an update gave me black screens for a week. has anyone been running it for a while? any issues worth knowing before I click install? I would love a short, honest answer from people who have actually used it for a few weeks. pls help 馃檹

  3. oh ive been there lol keep a short log of what driver youre on and when you changed it (pnputil /enum-drivers shows installed packages and dates). when something breaks later, youll know if teh timing matches.

  4. for programming, stability matters more than the newest game optimizations. if theres a separate stable/studio/recommended branch, thats usually the better fit.

  5. ok so driver updates do sometimes include security fixes, so I wouldn't stay on a very old version forever. But waiting a week or two after release to see if a hotfix appears is perfectly reasonable.

  6. lol same thing happened to me my approach: make a restore point, download teh previous driver package so its ready, then try the new one. If anything misbehaves, DDU and reinstall the old one. That makes updating a low-risk experiment. fingers crossed 馃

  7. i update on day one and have very few issues. Most problems people report are leftovers from upgrading over old installs, not the driver itself.
