What Actually Matters When Picking A Browser For Daily Browsing On An Old Laptop??

  1. for privacy, defaults matter because most ppl never chagne settings. look at what each browser blocks out of the box: third-party cookies, fingerprinting scripts, boucne trakcing. then check what it sends home by default and whether you can turn it off.

  2. oof on low-RAM machines teh biggest win isnt the browser brand, its discipline: tab suspension (built in to most browsers now as memory saver or tab sleeping), fewer extensions, and not keeping three web apps pinned... measure with the browsers own task manager before switching. lmk how it goes

  6. hmmm for web development Id say teh browser you test in matters more than teh one you browse in... use whatever you like daily, but keep at least one Chromium browser, Firefox and Safari (or a WebKit-based test browser) around... bugs that only show in one engine are still very real.
