What Actually Matters When Picking A Browser For Daily Browsing On An Old Laptop??

  1. my setup is mostly daily browsing on an old laptop, and Ive noticed my browser is the app i spend the most time in, yet Ive barely thought about which one i use. lately Ive seen alot of strong opinions about Brave. some people love it, some say its a mistake. what are the trade-offs that actually matter day to day: memory use, extensions, sync, privacy defaults, dev tools? curious to hear what finally made each of you settle on your current pick. pls help 馃檹

  6. ok so most mainstream browsers are fast enough today. id choose on dev tools quality, privacy defaults and how much teh vendor pushes its own services in teh UI. the last one is what annoys ppl most over time. worked for me anyway 馃し

  9. hmmm extensions are the real decider for me 馃槫 Before switching, list teh extensions you cant live without and check they exist and are maintained for the new browser. Everything else is mostly taste.

  15. Don't underestimate sync and ecosystem lock-in. If your phone runs one browser and your desktop another, password and tab sync becomes your real pain point. Picking a browser that runs everywhere u work saves more time than any speed difference.

    lol
