  1. guys pls help my dad always said buy cheap, buy twice 馃憤 I did not listen. Just three weeks after buying a marketplace 1TB SATA SSD, my health tool shows a warning.

    Disk health

    Disk health
    S.M.A.R.T. status: BAD

Reallocated sectors count: 1,872 (threshold exceeded)
Back up your data and replace the disk as soon as possible.

I have backups of teh important stuff, mostly 馃う what I need to know is how fast this kind of warning turns into actaul data loss, and whether I should push the seller for a replacmeent before the return period ends. thx in advance!!

  2. also update the drive firmware with teh vendor's SSD tool if teh brand has one. some health warnings are firmware reporting bugs, but only trust that explanation if teh vendor actually documents it. fingers crossed 馃

  3. nah tbh personally i avoid refurbished storage completely... saving a bit on the one part that holds your data never felt worth it to me, buy new with a real warranty.
