  1. my a survival game server has been rock solid for months... then teh latest patch arrived and it died. steamCMD output:

    Windows Update

    Windows Update
    We couldn't complete the updates.
Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer.

    Error code: 0x800f0922

Clients say version mismatch. Id love to fix this without wiping the world save.

Most important to me is keeping teh world save intact. If theres a safe order of steps, Id love to follow it exactly. Any help before the weekend rush would be fantastic.

  4. oof note that force_install_dir must come before login in newer SteamCMD versions, otherwise it may warn and ignore the directory. Check your scripts argument order.

  5. oof check disk space and permissions on the server... on Linux, run df -h and make sure the server user owns teh install folder: sudo chown -R steam:steam /path/to/server.

  7. Id avoid automatically updating on server start for modded servers. Its convenient, but one broken mod update can take the whole server down 🤦 Update manually when u can test.
