  1. guys pls help my budget notebook takes forever to become usable after opening the browser... task Manager shows this:

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%

    Disk 0 (C:) Active time 100%
    Not responding

Disk at 100%, and teh response time is huge. Clicking anything takes ages. After 15 or 20 minutes it calms down. Its a few years old with a regular hard drive. Is smth wrong, or is this just how it is now? Im not suree if this is normal for an older budget notebook or a sign that smth is about to fail. Upgrading is possible, but Id like to understand the cause first.

  2. oof on a mechanical hard drive, high disk usage after boot and updates is common because Windows does indexing, updates and Defender scans at once. An SSD is the single most effective fix for this symptom. lmk how it goes

oof check the drives health before anything else. crystalDiskInfo shows SMART data; look at Reallocated Sectors, Pending Sectors and Uncorrectable counts. clicking plus slowness is a warning sign. worked for me anyway 🤷

  4. @milan.sato swapped the hard drive for an SSD and cloned it... the budget notebook boots in seconds now and disk usage is barely noticeable.
