After the backup, compare SMART again in a week. If the counts are climbing, the drive is actively degrading.

for me it was the settings. swapped it and boom, fixed... is laptop even worth bothering with or should i just leave it hope that helps :)

yeahhh reallocated and Pending Sectors on a hard drive are teh most predictive SMART attributes for failure. A small, stable number can stay stable for a while, but a growing number means replace it soon.

@ccastillo-1g5 did u ever fix it?. make a backup before u touch the cable, learned that the hard way
