  1. ok so i wanted a cozy controller evening with a platformer, but my Xbox wireless controller just doesnt work in it. its connected through USB cable, Windows sees it, the light is on, and i even got this:

in-game, nothing. not a single button. keyboard works fine. what am I missing?

i already tried a different cable, restarting the game with the controller connected first and turning it off and on again. nothing changes. it feels like the game simply doesnt see it. any ideas??

  2. are you launching teh game through Steam, and is Steam Input enabled for it?

  3. hmmm playStation controllers aren't natively supported by every PC game.. 😅 either use Steam Input, which translates them, or a game with native support... without translation the game may simply ignore the controller.

  4. For Bluetooth problems, remove the controller in Settings > Bluetooth & devices, update the Bluetooth drvier from your motherboard or laptop maker, and pair again. Cheap Bluetooth dongles are a frequent cause of drops.

  5. Accepted solution

hmmm test teh controller in Windows with joy.cpl (Game Controllers dialog). if buttons rsepond there, the hardware and driver are fine and the issue is game-side. worked for me anyway 🤷

  7. Id avoid installing third-party controller wrappers unless Steam Input really doesnt work. They can conflict with each other and make things worse.
