  1. so annoyed rn im planning a build with a 8-core CPU in a glass-panel showcase case and I keep going back and forth on cooling. Big tower air cooler, or a 240/280 AIO?? Air feels simple and reliable. The AIO looks cleaner and Ive heard it helps with spikes. I care more about noise than squeezing out the last few degrees. What would u pick and why? Im also wondering about maintenance over the years. Dust, fan replacements, pump wear 🤷 What did you find easier to live with in the long run?? any ideas??

  2. hmmm for most mid-range CPUs, a good dual-tower air cooler performs close to a 240 mm AIO.. :) the difference shows up msotly with hot, high-core-count chips under sustained load. good luck man!

  4. check clearances before choosing: air cooler height against teh cases maximum, and radiaotr mounting positions for the AIO. the full tower spec sheet lists both.

  5. wait does this also apply to showcase?. pro tip: write down what u change. i didnt and had to redo air-cooler from scratch

  7. oof for small-form-factor builds, low-profile air coolers often lose to an AIO because theres no room for a tall heatsink. it really depends on teh case. worked for me anyway 🤷

  8. if you go AIO, mount teh radiator so the pump isnt teh highest point of the loop. front mount with tubes at the bottom, or top mount, both avoid air collecting in teh pump. lmk how it goes

  9. try turning off teh cable first, fixed it for me worked for me anyway 🤷

  10. oof air coolers have one moving part you can replace: the fan 🙏 An AIOs pump is the failure point, and when it goes, teh whole unit gets replaced.
