WHEA errors are reported by the hardware itself. with an undervolt or negative offset, light loads and idle are exactly where instability shows up, because voltage drops when the chip boosts single cores. stress tests at full load don't catch it.

  1. ugh. my PC keeps crashing with this, usually while browsing:

WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR.. ;) it passed hours of stress testing when i set up a CPU overcolck, so i assumed it was stable, now Im not so sure... event Viewer has WHEA-Logger entries too... is the CPU damaged? i dont have any other tweaks besides that one, and teh rest of the system is at default... the idea of my CPU being damaged makes me a bit sick, so Id love to rule that out. thx in advance!!

  3. oh ive been there lol BIOS updates can change default voltaegs and boost behavior. A setting that was stable on the old BIOS may not be stable on the new one. hope that helps :)

  4. ahh classic reset the BIOS to defaults (or load optimized defaults) and run that way for a week. If the crashes stop, it was PBO, not daamge. lmk how it goes

  6. I'd disagree with going straight back to stock. You can usually keep most of the benefit by easing the offset only on the core that fails.
