  1. hmmmm ok a story in three acts. act one: the connected oven wants an update. act two: the update fails. act three: the touchscreen shows an error code.

The part that bothers me is that i didnt need any new features, it was working perfectly lol Now Im worried about a birthday cake and about why a cooling or cooking appliance needs internet at all :D Practical help and philosophical rants both welcome. thx in advance!!

  3. If it stays stuck, contact the manufacturer and mention that the failure happened during their update. Failures caused by official updates are often handled under warranty or as a goodwill repair.

  5. First check whether the core funciton still works. On most smart appliances the connected module is separate from the part that cools, washes or heats. A thermometer in the fridge tells you quickly whether ur food is actually at risk.

  6. Try a full power cycle: unplug it or switch off the breaker for a few minutes, then power on. Many appliances retry or roll back a failed firmware update on the next boot.

  7. @night_deck holy cow a full power cycle did it. the update finished on the second try and teh touchscreen shows an error code stopped. and yes, a birthday cake survived. cant believe it was that simple lol
