ok so pick an LTS or stable release for a machine you depend on. fewer surprises and you can still get newer apps via Flatpak.

  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts ive been dual booting Windows and Pop!_OS for a while, and i noticed i almost never boot Windows anymore. The only reason i keep it is music production, and even that is starting to feel optional. Before i wipe the Windows partition, i wanna hear from people who made teh jump completely. Did u regret it?? What broke that you didnt expect?? Whats teh one app you still miss?? Im not looking for a flame war, just real experiences 😂 If u went back to Windows, Id love to hear why too, cuz thats probably the most useful story of all. any ideas??

  6. for gaming, Steams Proton handles a lot, but games with kernel-level anti-cheat often refuse to run, check each game you care about before switching.

  9. oh ive been there lol back up ur Windows partition with an image tool before wiping it. Cheap insurance if you discover a missing tool later. fingers crossed 🤞

  10. i made teh jump two years ago. the biggest change wasnt technical, it was learning to look for alternatives instead of exact copies of Windows apps :) check whether ur specific tools for older games have native versions or work through Flatpak before deciding.

  11. Hardware matters more than distro. Check your Wi-Fi chip and GPU with lspci -k on a live USB. if both show a driver in use, the hard part is already solved.

  12. Keep the dual boot for a few months but make Linux teh default boot entry lol If u go weeks without needing Windows, you have ur answer.
