  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts my old screen started flickering and I have to replace it soon :D I do moslty competitive gaming. The two options I keep coming back to are a 4K 60Hz and a 24 inch 240Hz. Friends are split down teh middle. Help me break the tie. Bonus points if u tell me what you would do differently with your own monitor purchase. I keep screens for years, so I would like to avoid regrets this time around.

  2. lol same thing happened to me check the stand and the desk depth. A big ultrawide on a shallow desk is uncomfortable. A VESA mount or arm fixes a lot of ergonomics problems for little money.

  5. hmmm if u choose OLED for mostly static work, use dark themes, enable the pixel refresh features teh monitor offers, and hide the tsakbar. burn-in risk is real with sattic UI elements, so read teh warranty terms on burn-in.

  7. hmmm high refresh rate is not just for gaming. scrolling and moving windows feel smoother at 120Hz or more. but it only helps if your GPU can actually push those frames in games. hope that helps :)

  9. yeahhh for color work, look for factory calibration reports and sRGB coverage from indeepndent reviews. use the sRGB mode if the screen has a wide gamut, otherwise colors look oversaturated.

  12. Check teh connection: high refresh at high resolution needs DisplayPort or a recent HDMI version on both the GPU and the monitor. The wrong cable silently caps you at 60Hz.

For text heavy work, pixel density matters more than size. A 27 inch 1440p or a 27 inch 4K makes text much sharper than 1080p at the same size, which helps with long days of reading code or spreadsheets. hope that helps :)
