is it nginx or the spring boot app? a 502 mystery with one clue

Start with the nginx error log, it tells you which kinda 502 it is:

sudo tail -f /var/log/nginx/error.log

connect() failed (111: Connection refused) means nothing listens where proxy_pass points 🤦 upstream prematurely closed connection means teh app accepted and then dropped teh request :D no live upstreams means all backends were marked down. fingers crossed 🤞

make a backup before u touch the settings, learned that the hard way, following, having teh same problem

hmmmm not sure about that idk man that sounds like bad advice tbh... pro tip: write down what u change, i didnt and had to redo after from scratch but hey ymmv
