  1. ok so bought a Switch Pro controller specifically for a sports game, plugged it in via USB cable, and the game refuses to recognize it. Windows threw this at me:

im close to returning it, but maybe teh problem is on my PC.

Id realy rather fix this on my end than return a perfectly good controller. If someone could walk me through the usual suspects, Id be very grateful.

  2. are you launching the game through Steam, and is Steam Input enabled for it?

  4. ok so if you launch the game through Steam, check Steam Input for that specific game: right-click the game > Properties > Controller and try both Enable Steam Input and Disable Steam Input, some games only work with one or teh other depedning on the controller.

  5. oh ive been there lol test the controller in Windows with joy.cpl (Game Controllers dialog) 😅 if buttons respnod there, the hardware and driver are fine and teh issue is game-side. fingers crossed 🤞

  6. lol same thing happened to me for Bluetooth problems, remove the conrtoller in Settings > Bluetooth & devices, update teh Bluetooth driver from ur motherboard or lapotp maker, and pair again. cheap Bluetooth dongles are a frequent cause of drops.

  11. ahh classic playStation controllers aren't natively supported by every PC game. either use Steam Input, which translates them, or a game with native support :) without translation the game may simply ignore the controller. good luck man!

  12. hmmm unplug other input devices like racing wheels, flight sticks or drawing tablets. Some games bind to the first detected controller, which may not be your gamepad.

  13. ok so for a driver error in Device Manager, uninstall the device (check delete the driver software if offered), unplug, reboot, then reconnect dircetly to a rear USB port, not a hub. hope that helps :)
