    ok so im losing my mind with this update. the games own patcher says it failed, retry, fails again at 0%:

Error code: 0x800f0922

    the game folder is on a second SSD... other games on the same drive update fine, what makes this one different?

    id really prefer not to delete and rdeownload the whole game if theres a smarter fix. any idea what the lanucher is actually complaining about here?

    Does the error mention disk write or corrupt download, or just a generic update failure?

    ok so controlled folder access is on. I turned it on months ago and completely forgot about it. hope thats enough info 😅

    run the launcher as administrator once and retry, if that works, the game folder's permissions are wrong, right-click the folder, Properties > Security, and make sure your user has full control.

    clear the launhcers download cache, most launchers have this in their settings; otherwise close it completely and deelte teh temporary download fodler inside teh library folder... corrupted partial files often break at the same percentage forever. fingers crossed 🤞

    use the launcher's Verify or Repair option before retrying the update, if one existing file is corrupted, teh patch can't be applied on top of it. hope that helps :)

    disk write errors usually mean teh launcher can't write to teh folder, not that the disk is full... check that your antivirus (including Windows Defender's Controlled folder access) isn't blocking the launcher. add the launcehr executable and teh game folder as exclusions.

    lol same thing happened to me if you're on a VPN or custom DNS, try without it once. Some CDNs serve broken or blocked chunks through certain routes, and the launcher reports it as a generic update failure.

    @wrenq213 wowww ok took ownership of teh copied folder, gave my user full control, and teh udpate went straight through 0%. thanks everyone.
