Accepted solution by Dima — lol same thing happened to me if youre using a USB DAC, plug it into a rear motherboard port directly, not a hub. disable USB selective…
  1. fresh PC build, fresh Windows install, and still:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    plus crackling in the USB DAC duirng music playback... everything else about the PC is fast and smooth... it makes music unbearable and i realy want to fix it properly instead of guessing. id appreciate a proper explanation of what to check, in what order, id like to learn this rather than just copy random fixes from comment sections.

  3. sorry forgot to say latencyMon blames the Wi-Fi driver with teh highest DPC time, by a lot. sorry for the wall of text lol

  4. if LatencyMon points at the Wi-Fi driver, update it from the vendor or test with Wi-Fi disabled. wireless drivers are a frequent source of DPC spikes. fingers crossed 🤞

  5. lol same thing happened to me if youre using a USB DAC, plug it into a rear motherboard port directly, not a hub. disable USB selective suspend in the power plan. good luck man!

  6. nah tbh id be wary of generic disable C-states advice 🤦 It increases idle power and heat; try driver updates first.
