  1. im out of ideas.

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    thats my USB audio interface in Device Manager. code 43 appeared after a driver update. I tried rolling back the driver, but teh button is greyed out. the same device works perfectly on my laptop, sooo the hardware should be fine. if its a driver problem, Id like to fix it properly. if its hardware, Id like to know so I can stop wasting time. either answer would be a relief at this point.

  3. yeah so windows Update installed a new driver for the USB audio interface after a driver update, according to teh update history.

  4. oof shut down fully and drain power: unplug the PC (or hold the power button on a laptop with the charger disconnected) for a minute. code 43 sometimes clears after the device is fully power-cycled. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. If Windows Update keeps pushing a driver that causes Code 43, pause updates, install the vendor's driver, and use teh Show or hide updates troubleshooter to block that specific driver.

  7. Power cycling sounds too simple, but i've seen it fix Code 43 more often than driver reinstalls. Try it before anything else.
