Accepted solution by Daria Halvorsen — yeahhh power cycle in the right order: switch off teh console, restart the router, wait until its fully up, then turn the console back on.…
  1. not gonna lie this is driving me nuts the game console shows connected to Wi-Fi but no internet access.

    Network & internet

    Network & internet
    Wi-Fi • HomeNet_5G
    No internet, secured

Connected, but nothing loads. Troubleshoot problems?

this happened right before movie night with friends, of course... i tried forgetting the network and joining again, no luck.. 😂 the router was replaced by teh internet provider last month, if that matters. im out of ideas and the family is losing faith in me, any ideas before i start blaming the provider again?

  2. oof a new router often means a new network name, a different Wi-Fi band setup or WPA3 settings. Some older console models struggle with WPA3 or combined 2.4GHz and 5GHz networks. Try enabling WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode, or a separate 2.4GHz network name. worked for me anyway 🤷

  3. ok so 'Connected, no internet' usually means the device got a Wi-Fi connection but couldn't get a valid IP address, DNS or gateway. Check the network settings on teh console: if the IP starts with 169.254, it didn't get an address from the router at all.

  5. ok so if Wi-Fi is weak, an Ethernet cable or a powerline adapter behind teh TV makes streaming devices far more reliable ;) streaming is exactly where a cable earns its keep. lmk how it goes

yeahhh power cycle in the right order: switch off teh console, restart the router, wait until its fully up, then turn the console back on. it sounds basic, but it clears stale DHCP leases. worked for me anyway 🤷

  10. hmm idk before blaming the router, try a factory reset of the network settings on teh SM Bus Controller. corrupted saved settings cause exactly this pattern.
