  1. hmmmm ok new member here. Im a university student. Everyone told me this forum is friendly to beginners, so here goes. After forty hours, a survival crafting game decided to crash every half hour.

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

Outside of games Im into music and cooking, and Im happy to chat about either. Thanks for having me! i already tried restarting, which is teh full extent of my troubleshooting knowledge so far. Any pointers welcome. thx in advance!!

  2. clean install teh graphics driver: download the latest from the GPU maker, use DDU in Safe Mode to remove the old one, then install fresh 😂 it fixes a surprising number of crash to desktop issues. fingers crossed 🤞

  3. ok so check temperatures with HWiNFO while playing. crashes that only happen in heavy areas can be overheating or an unstable oevrclock, including factory overclocked GPUs.

  4. been there man welcome! also make sure ur page file isnt disabled... some big games crash when RAM fills up and Windows has no page file to fall back on. hope that helps :)

  5. If you use overlays or mods, disable them all and test. Overlays from Discord, recording software and RGB apps can all cause crashes. Mods are teh first suspect after two hundred hours if anything updated recently. fingers crossed 🤞

  6. oh ive been there lol welcome aboard. verify teh game files in ur launcher (on Steam: right click > Properties > Installed Files > Verify integrity). corrupted files after an update are a common cause of crashes in a sepcific area.

  7. been there man welocme! good first step: check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application for an Application Error entry at teh time of the crash... the faulting module name tells us a lot, like a graphics driver file or a game file.
