    guys pls help updates on this site have been flaky for a while. Today, updating twelve plugins at once failed with an error about not being able to create a directory, and now teh site shows:

We couldn't complete the updates.
Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer.

Error code: 0x800f0922

    i'd like to fix both problems: get the site back now, and figure out why updates keep failing 😅 any pointers appreciated. i'm happy to check file permissions or logs if someone tells me where.

    yeahhh to avoid this in the future, update in smaller batches, especially large plugins like WooCommerce, and dont navigate away until you see the success message. A staging copy is ideal for big version jumps.

    hmmm after removing .maintenance, check that teh update actually completed. for plugins, a half-updated folder can cause fatal errors. reinstall cleanly: wp plugin install plugin-slug --force or delete teh plugin folder and install it fresh from the dashboard. settings are stored in teh database, so they usually survive. worked for me anyway 🤷

    I'd restore from teh host's backup instead of piecing together a half-finished update, especially for WooCommerce. database migrations can be half-applied too.

    page 1 lets gooo... make a backup before u touch the settings, learned that teh hard way :)

    @bea.demir cleaned up old backups taking up disk space, fixed folder ownership, and updates now finish normally. two problems, one thread.
