Accepted solution by Caleb Quintero — run a disk check on the next restart: chkdsk C: /f, and look for disk errors in Event Viewer under System with source disk or Ntfs.

That's my budget notebook after every boot :) It used to be fine. Now it contsantly crawls and I sometimes hear teh drive clicking softly. I have important documents on it. Should I be worried, or is this a Windows thing? I'm going to copy my documents to a USB stick tonight just in case. But I'd love to know whether this is a dying drive or just Windows being heavy. seriously need help here 😭

  2. lol same thing happened to me re-enable SysMain and Search if u disabled them. they are rarely teh root cause, and disabling them can make the system feel slower on hard drives.
