IS A TRACKBALL GENUINELY WORTH IT, OR JUST DESK JEWELRY??

Accepted solution by Mila Zhang — oh ive been there lol vertical mice and trackballs take a week or two to get used to. Dont judge them on day one. worked for me anyway 🤷
  1. inspired by a coworkers setup, Im thinking about a trackball. before i spend the money, i wanna hear the downsides from ppl who own one. what annoyed u in the first week? did you get used to it, or did it end up in a drawer? bonus points for photos described in words, since i love hearing how ppl arrange their desks for spreadsheet work.. xD if u tried a trackball and returned it, i want to hear that story too 👍 negative experiences are just as useful when youre about to spend money.

  2. oof if you switch between a work laptop and a desktop, a KVM switch or a monitor with a built-in USB hub saves a lot of cable swapping. good luck man!

  4. Whatever you buy, check if it needs vendor softwrae to work. Some peripherals lose features without it, and teh software can be heavy. worked for me anyway 🤷

  8. @mila.zhang Ended up with a monitor arm and a KVM instead. My desk is half as cluttered and my neck is happier.
