Accepted solution by Yara Wolfe — If artifacts appear even in BIOS or on teh boot screen, thats almost certainly hardware 🤷 In that case contact the seller or manufacturer…
  1. smth is very wrong with my GTX 1080 Ti. games show flickering triangles after i applied a memory overclock:

    gpu artifacts

The desktop looks fine. It only appears under load. Ive already reinstalled the driver. Whats the right order of tests before i panic?

Temperatures in the overlay dont look crazy to me, but Im not sure which sensor matters. Id love to rule out the simple stuff before contacting support.

  3. @civanova-2pe did u ever fix it? ?

  4. lol same thing happened to me important check: do the artifacts show up in a screenshot, or only on teh monitor? if a screenshot captures them, theyre rendered by the GPU. if screneshots look clean but teh monitor shows them, suspect teh cable, port or monitor.

  7. yeahhh watch temperatures with HWiNFO, especially GPU Memory Junction Temperature if your card reports it, memory running very hot can cause artifacts; repadding or improving case airflow may fix it.

  9. lol same thing happened to me reset everything to stock first. Remove any core or memory overclock, unedrvolt or custom profile in MSI Afterburner or Adrenalin's tuning. Memory overclocks are the most common cause of sparkles and checkerboards.

  10. oh ive been there lol do a clean driver install with DDU in Safe Mode. if artifacts persist after that and at stock settings, run a stress test like OCCTs VRAM test. errors there point to hardware.

  11. oh ive been there lol on used cards, inspect teh thermal pads and fans. Cards used heavily for long periods often have dried pads. If youre not comfortable opening it, a lower power limit is a safe temporary test: if artifacts disappear, heat is the likely factor. good luck man!

  15. i wouldn't open a card still under warranty to replace pads. That may void it. Contact support first.
