    so annoyed rn i never thought Id post about a kitchen appliance on a tech forum. My smart fridge showed a notification asking to install a firmware update. I tapped yes like a responsible adult. Now it keeps beeping every ten minutes.

    it still seems to be doing its basic job, i think, but my sourdough starter is in there and Im nervous, has anyone dealt with this? do i unplug it, wait, or call teh manufacturer? any ideas??

    ahh classic look in teh manual or teh support pages for a documented reset procedure for the wifi module or a factory reset. some models have a button combination for exactly this situation.

    hmmm check your Wi-Fi during the update. Appliances usually only support 2.4GHz, and a weak signal near a kitchen full of metal can interrupt downloads. If you have a mesh system, putting a node closer can help next time. fingers crossed 🤞

    i wouldn't power cycle immediately during an update... if it's still writing firmware, give it an hour first... interrupting an update in progress can make things worse.
