  1. guys pls help patch day hit, all my players updated their clients, and now nobody can join my a zombie sandbox server. They get failed to update app state. When i run SteamCMD on Debian, it shows this:

    Windows Update

    Windows Update
    We couldn't complete the updates.
Undoing changes. Don't turn off your computer.

    Error code: 0x800f0922

The server is stuck on teh old build. My community is waiting in Discord. Help?

the serevr has run for months without problems, and I didn't change anything in teh setup. I'd really like to understand what's breaking, not just patch it once. thanks in advance, my players will be grateful too.

  2. oof clear SteamCMDs own state by deleting the appcache folder in teh SteamCMD directory, then retry. Stale app info can cause failed to update app state type errors. good luck man!

  3. oh ive been there lol note that force_install_dir must come before login in newer SteamCMD versions, otherwise it may warn and ignore the directory, check your scripts argument order. good luck man!

  4. hmm idk id avoid automatically updating on server start for modded servers. its convenient, but one broken mod update can take the whole server down... update manually when u can test.

  5. @fenna.demir64 wowww ok cleared old backups, freed up space, and SteamCMD finished without errors. Lesson learned about disk space.
