    help!! i put a game i borrwoed from a friend into my PS5 Slim with the disc drive and got this instead of the game:

    Cannot read the disc.

    Cannot read the disc.
Remove the disc and check it for scratches
or dirt, then insert it again.
Error code: CE-100005-6

    the drive was making no sound at all for a few seconds before teh error came up. I took teh disc out, checked it under the light, and it looks clean 🤦 other discs seemed to work last month, but I havent tested them today. I really dont want to send the console away for weeks. how do I figure out whether teh disc or teh drive is the problem??

    15 tabs open and chrome ate all 32GB of ram again

    yeahhh for 4K Blu-ray movies, also check the consoles region and disc-format settings. A game disc and a movie disc failing at the same time is more likely the drive. worked for me anyway 🤷

    ahh classic CE-100005-6 means the console cant read the disc. First test with two or three other discs. If those work, its that disc. If none work, its teh drive.

    wait what sometimes it relaly is the disc. Factory-new discs with defects do exist, and a store exchange is faster than a repair.

    at this point my GPU cost more than my car lol

    @ajensen omggg rebuild database plus laying teh PS5 Slim with the disc drive flat fixed it, and teh noise is gone. No idea which one did it, but Im not complaining. u guys are the best!!!
