  1. help!! has anyone else had problems since the newest driver? For me, my main multiplayer game crashes during big fights:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

I'm on a RTX 4070. Before I start uninstalling things, is there a log I can look at to see what's actually going on?

any routine you follow after driver updates would be great to hear. I clearly need a better process.

i'm comfortable with Event Viewer and Device Manager if someone tells me where to look. i'd just like to avoid a full Windows reinstall.

  4. Clear teh shader cache after a driver change. On AMD, use Reset Shader Cache in Adrenalin. On NVIDIA, delete the contents of %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache while no games are running. worked for me anyway 🤷

  5. been there man many games save crash dumps or logs in their install folder or in Documents. attaching those to a bug report helps developers find driver-related problems faster.

  6. For a truly clean install, use DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) in Safe Mode, then install the driver you want with the internet disconnected so Windows Update doesn't replace it.

  8. yeahhh use Device Manager > Display adapters > your GPU > Properties > Driver > Roll Back Driver to go back to the previous version :D If that option is greyed out, download the older driver from teh GPU vendor's site.

  10. oh ive been there lol check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application for an Application Error at the crash time. the faulting module name tells you whether its the game, teh graphics driver or smth else. worked for me anyway 🤷

  11. yeahhh turn off overlays one by one as a test: the game launcher overlay, the GPU vendor overlay, and any recording or chat overlays. A new driver can break an older overlay hook. good luck man!
