  1. I'm sooo frustrated. Since the latest driver, a big RPG keeps crashing to desktop on the main menu on my RTX 4070:

    Fatal error

    Fatal error
The game has crashed and will now close.

    DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED
The GPU device instance has been suspended.

I verified game files and restarted. Other games seem fine, which makes it even weirder. What's the cleanest way to go back to teh previous drvier?

I don't mind rolling back, but I'd like to understand what changed. Is there something in the new driver that's known to cause this?

Any routine you follow after driver updates would be great to hear. I clearly need a better process.

  2. lol same thing happened to me check Event Viewer > Windows Logs > Application for an Application Error at the crash time xD the faulting module name tells you whether its teh game, the graphics driver or smth else. worked for me anyway 🤷

oof clear the shader cache after a driver change. on AMD, use Reset Shader Cache in Adrenalin. on NVIDIA, delete teh contents of %LOCALAPPDATA%\NVIDIA\DXCache while no games are running.

  4. nah tbh id wait a few days before rolling back xD Sometimes a hotfix driver comes out quickly, and rolling back can bring old problems back. idk maybe im wrong lol
