    genuine question for the older players here. when an late-90s game I love gets remade, I get excited and nervous at the same time. excited because more pepole will play it, nervous in case the new verison changed teh camera. with JRPGs especially, small details matter. how do you decide whether to get the remake or just replay the original?

    and for younger players who never played the originals: do you even want the old versions, or is the remake the definitive one for you?

    Look at what the remake changes in accessibility and quality of life. Saves, difficulty options and controls are often teh biggest improvements for older racing games.

    lol same thing happened to me watching a few minutes of gameplay from someone who knows teh original well tells u a lot. reviews often focus on visuals, while long-time fans notice changed timing and level layouts.

    ahh classic sound and music are underrated. Many fans care alot about the original soundtrack, so remakes that offer a classic music option tend to land better. lmk how it goes

    ahh classic remasters are great for preservation. They keep the original design intact and make it playable on modern hardware, which matters as older consoles get harder to find. lmk how it goes

    been there man if teh original is still available on your platform, playing it first and then the remake can be a fun way to see what changed, or wait for a sale on whichever one u're less suree about.
