  1. hot take incoming: I prefer remasters to remakes. give me teh PS2-era original with higher resolution and a satble frame rate and I'm happy. when a team changed the camera, it becomes a different game wearing a familiar name. that said, I know a lot of ppl love full remakes of JRPGs. where do u land, and what's a remkae that changed your mind?

im genuinely curious, not trying to start a war. both kinds of projects can be great when theyre done with care.

  2. lol same thing happened to me look at what teh remake changes in accsesibility and quality of life. saves, difficulty options and controls are often the biggest improvements for older party games.

  3. ehh idk man that sounds like bad advice tbh. pro tip: write down what u change, i didnt and had to redo camera from scratch

the real fix was the friends we made along the way

  4. yeahhh remasters are great for preservation. They keep the original design intact and make it playable on modern hardware, which matters as older consoles get harder to find. good luck man!

  5. For me a remake works when it keeps the core loop and changes teh presentation. Once the pacing or structure changes, it's a reimagining and should be judged as its own game. worked for me anyway 馃し

  6. ehh remasters can also go wrong: low-effort upscales that break effects or lighting are arguably worse than a bold remake. just my 2 cents
