    ok weird one nostalgia trip gone wrong. installing a childhood RPG from a disc from a magazine on Windows 11:

    the disc reads fine and I can see teh files, but the setup program wont run... is it the disc, teh installer, or Windows??

    I'm comfortable with a bit of tinkering, but I'd rather not install sketchy software. If there's a clean way to do this, I'd love to know.

    i'd also love to know if anyone has played this game on a modern PC and how it went. did you need any patches??

    You can sometimes open the installer or the discs data files with 7-Zip and copy the game files manually, skipping teh old setup program.

    Virtual machnies can be fiddly with 3D games. Try extracting the files first, its much simpler.
