update loop: windows fails, game refuses. help

dumb question but how do i even check teh default config ?

hmmm run the built-in repair tools from an admin terminal: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth then sfc /scannow. restart and try the update again.

an in-place upgrade is a big step. try the rpeair commands and the troubleshooter first.
