  1. My Switch 2 doesnt recognise my new 512 GB microSD:

    microSD card can't be read

    microSD card can't be read
The card may need to be formatted for this system,
or it may be damaged. Formatting erases all data.
Card: 512 GB - status: not mounted

this happened since i took teh card out to use in a PC, i dont have anything importnat on it yet, but i wanna know if its the card or teh console before i buy something else. any tips?

Im not in a rush, but Id like to buy the right thing next time. If anyone can explain what to look for in a card, that would help a lot.

ive read conflicting advice online, so Id realy like to understand whats going on before i do anything that cant be undone... any guidance is welcome. im about to throw this thing out the window lol

  5. cheap high-capacity cards from unknown sellers are often fake: they report a big size but fail once you write past their real capacity... test it on a PC with a tool like H2testw or F3 before trusting it. also, the Switch 2 only accepts microSD Express cards, a regular microSD card wont work in it at all no matter how u format it.

  6. hmmm format inside teh console, not on the PC: System Settings > System > Formatting Options > Format microSD Card. Formatting on a PC with the wrong settings is a common reason the console wont accept a card.
