    help!! i found a box I found in teh attic for an old adventure game and got really excited. then I tried to install it on a new gaming lpatop:

    i tried compatibility mode for older Windows versions and running as adminsitrator. no luck, i really wanna play this again. are old games just impossible now, or is there a trick?

    this is pure nostalgia, but it would mean a lot to play it again, any help is appreciated, even if teh answer is buy it again. pls help 馃檹

    What does teh setup file look like, SETUP.EXE or something else? ?

    i checked, and there is a re-release of an old adventure game, but i wanted to use my own copy. hope thats enough info 馃槄

    nothing is more permanent than a temporary workaround

    Many very old installers are 16-bit programs, and 64-bit Windows cant run 16-bit code at all. The game itself is often 32-bit and runs fine; its just teh installer thats the problem.

    Check if the game has been re-released on a digital store. Re-releases are usually patched for modern Windows and are often teh easiest route. hope that helps :)
