try turning off the cable first, fixed it for me... exact same thing happened to my mac last month

I didnt know the ports were different. Using whichever one was free.

ok update: did what @wren_polar said and its fine now. pro tip: write down what u change. i didnt and had to redo hdmi from scratch

hmmm boot into low-resolution mode: with the console fully off, hold teh Xbox button and the Eject button (or the pair button on consoles without a disc drive) until u hear a second beep about 10 seconds later, it starts at a low resolution so you can fix the video settings.
