30 fps with pretty graphics, or 60 fps that feels great??

    im curious how ppl here play. with open-world games on a big 4K TV, I find 60 fps almost always wins, but my friend insists that ray-traced reflections are the whole point of a new console.. 馃槶 weve been arguing about it for weeks and neither of us is moving, on a PS5 Slim, which mode do u pick by default, and has a game ever changed ur mind?

    i'd also love to hear from people with different displays. i suspect that changes teh answer quite a bit.

    been there man for anything with fast camera movement, i take performance every time 馃槀 input feels more responsive, and that matters more than sharper shadows once u're actually playing. fingers crossed 馃

    if ur display supports 120 Hz and VRR, look for a baalnced or 40 fps mode. on a 120 Hz screen, 40 fps divides evenly and feels much smoother than 30 while keeping more detail. lmk how it goes

    for slow story games and photo mode, fidelity is great. I sometimes switch to fidelity just for photo mode and back again for gameplay. lmk how it goes
