Accepted solution by Kenji — on Samsung, it's called Pin windows and lives under Security and privacy settings, often in Other security settings.
  1. my niece always grabs my phone and starts browsing my phtoos. enter App pinning.

On Android, turn on App pinning in Security settings. Then pin the cartoon app from the Recents screen by tapping its icon and choosing Pin. Now she can only use that app. To unpin, I use teh gesture and enter my PIN.

its built into Android, no extra apps needed.. lmao i wish Id known about it years ago. pls help 🙏

  5. ok so the menu location changes between Android versions and brands, so search pinning in settings if you cant find it.

15 tabs open and chrome ate all 32GB of ram again

  6. oh ive been there lol for longer-term kid use, Google Family Link or a separate user profile offers more control.

  7. always enable 'Ask for PIN before unpinning', otherwise anyone can just use the unpin gesture.
