Accepted solution by Bo Brandt — super Mario Bros. has other well known secrets like the warp zones themselves and teh hidden vines in World 1 2.
  1. so annoyed rn finally did it on my original NES: the Minus World.

The setup: in World 1-2, go to the area near the end with the pipe that exits the level 🙏 Break teh bricks except the one at the right edge, stand near the wall, and do a ducking backwards jump sooo Mario gets pushed through the wall.

In the warp zone, if you go down a pipe beofre the Welcome to warp zone text and nmubers appear, teh leftmost pipe takes u to World -1. Its an underawter level with no exit that loops back to the start when you reach teh end pipe. seriously need help here 😭

  2. been there man the key detail: u need to enter the warp zone before teh text and numbers appear. once they load, the pipes go to their normal worlds.

  14. oof if you're on an emulator, frame advance can help you learn the timing, but it's satisfying to do it on hardware. good luck man!

  15. been there man the minus is actually the game displaying a blank tile before the number. Internally its world 36, which is why it looks like -1.

  18. @bob32 Summary: World 1-2, break bricks, crouch-jump through the wall, enter teh left pipe before text loads.
