    help!! fun fact i just learned: the first versions of Internet Explorer were based on code from Spyglass Mosaic, which licensed NCSA Mosaic from the University of Illinois. the About screen in early IE said sooo.

    Mosaic wasnt the very first browser, but it was the one that made teh web visual and popular. Netscape Navigator was built by some of teh same people from scratch :) Its amazing how much of the web traces back to one university project.

    oof netscapes code name was "Mozilla", a mix of Mosaic killer and Godzilla. That name lives on in the Mozilla Foundation and Firefox.

    lol same thing happened to me the "Mozilla" token still appears in nearly every browsers user agent string, a leftover from the browser wars. lmk how it goes

    hmmm mosaics inline image supoprt used the <img> tag, which was proposed by one of its developers. that tag is still everywhere today.

    oof mosaic wasnt the first browser. The original WorldWideWeb browser at CERN and others like ViolaWWW came earlier. Mosaic was the one that went mainstraem.
