not gonna lie this is driving me nuts okay, this ones weird. USB headset plugged into a docking station, and Device Manager shows smth like an unknown USB device.

the Realtek update was installed yesterday. id love to understand how USB audio actually gets its driver, because right now Im just plugging and unplugging hoping for magic... it worked for months without any trouble, so something definitely changed. im happy to dig into Device Manager or logs if someone explains what Im looking for. im about to throw this thing out the window lol
