scanner not found. printer works fine.

its an all-in-one connected over Ethernet. wnidows Scan cant see it. the P2542G Touch Pad Driver package from Gigabyte is installed, and the printer shows up. i remoevd and re-added teh printer, still no scanner. what am i missing?? i even tried a different cable and port, just in case. the printers display says its connected and ready, so the hardware side looks fine. im stuck and need to get a document scanned soon. pls help 馃檹
