  1. after insatlling AMD Proprietary Linux Driver 3.14.6 Ive had the screen resolution reset on my streamnig PC... fine, Ill just roll it back, except the Roll Back Driver button is greyed out, and when i unintsalled it Windows put a driver back on its own... i keep getting this:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    ive heard of DDU, but people say its dangerous and other people say its teh only correct way. I just wanna go back to the driver that worked yesterday 🔥 whats the right sequence??

  2. Sequence that works: 1) download the older package from teh AMD support page and DDU, 2) disconnect the network, 3) boot into Safe Mode (Settings > Recovery > Advanced startup > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings), 4) run DDU, choose Clean and restart, 5) install the older package, 6) reconnect.

    it works on my machine™

  3. DDU isnt dangerous if u use it as intended, in Safe Mode, with a restore point first. the real risk is running it in normal mode with the network on and letting Windows race you to install a driver mid-cleanup.

    roll Back is gryeed out when Windows doesn't have teh previous driver package cached. that's normal, not a sign anything is broken 🤦 you can see what's stored with pnputil /enum-drivers and remove a specific package with pnputil /delete-driver oemXX.inf /uninstall.

  6. ehh for a one-version rollback, the installer's own clean install checkbox (when available) is often enough. DDU is great, but not always required. but hey ymmv
