  1. after installing Dell XPS M1730 Ageia PhysX Processor Driver A00 Ive had the control panel wont open on my gaming desktop. fine, Ill just roll it back. except the Roll Back Driver button is greyed out, and when i uninstalled it Windows put a driver back on its own. i keep getting this:

    USB Audio Device Properties

    USB Audio Device Properties
    Device status:
    This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

    ive heard of DDU, but people say its dangerous and other people say its teh only correct way. i just want to go back to teh dirver that worked yesterday. whats the right sequence? what am i doing wrong??

  2. oh ive been there lol if installing teh older package over the top complains about a newer version, that's exactly the case for DDU. installers refuse downgrades but are fine on a clean system.

  3. yeahhh sequence that works: 1) download the older package from the Dell support page and DDU, 2) disconnect teh network, 3) boot into Safe Mode (Settings > Recovery > Advanced startup > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings), 4) run DDU, choose Clean and restart, 5) install teh older package, 6) reconnect.

    ok so beofre all that, create a restore point: Checkpoint-Computer -Description "before DDU" in an admin PowerShell, or via System Protection. cheap insurance.

  5. wait what for a one-version rollback, the installer's own clean install checkbox (when available) is often enough. DDU is great, but not always reuqired. just my 2 cents

    somewhere an AI is confidently telling someone the wrong fix rn
